French President Emmanuel Macron said that “fair and good negotiations” on Ukraine are possible with Russia in the future.
In an interview with the BBC, he said that “the time has not yet come” for Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table, and stressed that the previous decision to negotiate was the sole decision of Kyiv.
But he added that perhaps the time will come “to have fair and good negotiations, return to the negotiating table and find a solution with Russia.”
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin demonstrated the draft Istanbul Treaty on Ukraine and noted that this document had been initialed, that is, agreed upon and ready for signing. “Everything was there, right down to the number of armed forces, military equipment, personnel. They threw everything away,” the Russian leader emphasized. Putin also said that Ukraine does not want to negotiate, and that the current president of Ukraine signed a decree prohibiting negotiations.
