French President Emmanuel Macron invited his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to hold a peaceful summit on the conflict in Ukraine. About it informed newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
In addition to Macron, the summit was proposed by Denmark and Sweden, unnamed European diplomats told the newspaper. It is specified that the Ukrainian president asked Macron to “help him with international relations”, in particular with Chinese President Xi Jinping – at the end of April, Zelensky and the chairman held telephone conversation, where they discussed bilateral relations and the crisis in Ukraine.
In the fall of 2022, Zelensky, speaking at the G20 summit, listed ten conditions of the “Ukrainian peace formula”, among them the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory, fixing the end of the conflict, as well as ensuring food and nuclear security, etc.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov at the end of last year declaredthat in preparing the “peace plan” of Ukraine, Kyiv should take into account the entry into Russia of new regions. According to him, no plan that does not take into account the annexation of regions “can not pretend to be peaceful.”
