Macron promised to establish a corridor for the delivery of Russian fertilizers to Africa

A corridor for the supply of Russian fertilizers to Africa will open in the coming weeks, French President Emmanuel Macron said on November 16. This is part of a grain deal that Moscow has complained about not fulfilling. France is not a member of the grain deal, it is guaranteed by Russia, Turkey, the UN and Ukraine. On November 19, the agreement expires, and now there is a question of prolonging the transaction for 120 days, which is possible if none of the parties raises objections.

“A new corridor has been created for the delivery of Russian fertilizers to Africa through Europe, the first deliveries will take place in the coming weeks,” Macron said during a press conference at the G20 summit in Bali. The French President added that the first batch of 20,000 tons of Russian fertilizer “will be sent from the Netherlands and will arrive in Malawi in the coming days.” According to him, “thanks to the World Food Program [ООН] we have established a route for the delivery of Russian fertilizers to Africa.”
