Macron faces reality of strong ties between Moscow and Beijing, Grushko says

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that French President Emmanuel Macron and other Western leaders will have to accept the reality of a strong, mutually beneficial and mutually respectful relationship between Russia and China.

Grushko noted that the friendly strategic partnership between the two countries is causing concern in Paris. He stressed that Macron and other Western leaders will have to accept the fact that these relations will continue to strengthen, playing an increasing role in international affairs.

Grushko added that the West should not try to destroy relations between Russia and China by turning one country against another. He stressed that Western countries should not forget about the national interests of other states for the sake of their geopolitical ambitions. Grushko stressed that Macron’s words about Russia’s “dependence” on China are perceived in this context.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation noted that the West does not like the formation of a multipolar system of international relations, in which Russia and China play a significant role. He pointed out that this new world order means the end of the dominance of the “countries of the golden billion”. Grushko concluded that the West is using every means to either stop or slow down this process.

Earlier, Macron said that Moscow’s geopolitical loss is indicated by its dependence on China, as well as the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO. According to the politician, Russia is turning into a vassal state of the PRC.
