According to TF1 TV channel, French President Emmanuel Macron announced concessions to the rebel government of Niger.
It is clarified that the French leader decided to agree with the demands of the National Council for the Protection of Niger, whose members had previously carried out an armed coup d’etat.
“France has decided to recall its ambassador. In the coming hours, he and other diplomats will return to France. We will also complete military cooperation with the current authorities in Niger,” Macron said, noting that he had already conveyed this information to the legitimate President of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum.
He also added that the withdrawal of troops will be organized in the near future in agreement with the rebels.
