Lukashenko urged Pashinyan not to rush into disintegration steps

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko calmly reacted to the decision of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan not to participate in the CSTO summit in Minsk on November 23, but called on him not to make “hasty decisions.” This was stated by the press secretary of the Belarusian leader Natalya Eismont, transmits “BelTA”.

“Based on his experience and the actions of some other well-known politicians in similar situations, the President invited the Prime Minister of Armenia not to rush, not to make hasty decisions, but to seriously consider the next steps that could be aimed at disintegration,” Eismont said.

She added that Lukashenko understands that “this is the business of the leader of any state.” According to her, the Belarusian leader also invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the CSTO summit during a recent telephone conversation. The Russian president accepted the invitation, Eismont emphasized.

On November 14, a telephone conversation took place between Lukashenko and Pashinyan, during which the Armenian prime minister announced that he would not be able to attend the CSTO meeting in Minsk. He also expressed hope that members of the organization “will understand this decision.”

In the Kremlin expressed regret because of the decision of the Armenian prime minister, noting that the summit is a good reason to “synchronize watches.” Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov also said that the CSTO remains relevant. According to him, meetings within the CSTO confirm the relevance of this format among its participants. Previously Peskov confirmedthat Putin’s contacts with Lukashenko are indeed being prepared, promising to publish full information about the participation of the Russian President in the summit later.
