Lukashenko said that Prigozhin did not ask for security guarantees for himself

The founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin never asked for security guarantees for himself from Minsk. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, transmits BelTA.

“To answer this question directly: I don’t have to ensure Prigozhin’s safety. This is first. Secondly, the conversation never went in such a vein,” he said.

According to Lukashenka, he touched on this issue twice in a conversation with Prigozhin. For the first time, the Belarusian leader warned the founder of the PMC during negotiations against the backdrop of an attempted armed rebellion. “I told him: “Zhen, do you understand that you will kill people and die yourself?” In the heat of the moment, this man (only from the front): “To hell with him, I’ll die!”, ”Lukashenko retold the conversation with Prigozhin.

Then Prigozhin said that he would “die a hero,” the President of Belarus added. The second conversation between Lukashenka and the founder of the PMC took place when he came to him with his ally and one of the leaders of Wagner, Dmitry Utkin. “I categorically warned them both: “Guys, look,” Lukashenka said.

On the night of June 24, PMC Wagner, led by Prigozhin, attempted an armed rebellion in Russia. Lukashenka then participated in negotiations with Prigozhin. As a result of negotiations in the evening of the same day, it became known about the agreements reached, according to which the fighters and equipment of the PMC will return to the rear camps, the criminal case against Prigozhin will be stopped, and he himself will “leave for Belarus.” By words Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, the guarantee of this is the “word of the President of Russia.”

After that, the media repeatedly wrote that Prigozhin was still in Russia. Information that the founder of the PMC is not in Belarus, confirmed and Lukashenka in early July. In the Kremlin declaredthat do not follow the movements of Prigogine. When asked whether, in this case, Prigozhin’s non-departure to Belarus was a violation of the terms of the agreement to end the rebellion, Peskov refused to answer.

On August 23, the Embraer plane, on board of which, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency, was Prigozhin, suffered crash in the Tver region near the village of Kuzhenkino. The plane followed the route Moscow – St. Petersburg. There were 10 people on board – seven passengers and three crew members, all of whom died. Upon the crash, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport).
