Belarus is offered to conclude a non-aggression pact on Ukraine, but at the same time, the country continues to be armed, which creates a potential threat to the national security of the republic. This statement was made by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on the socio-political situation and the state of crime in the country.

In this regard, Lukashenka said that the authorities would react harshly to any attempts to destabilize the situation inside the country. According to the Belarusian leader, Minsk has “enough problems” around the perimeter as well. He stressed that the “reeling of 2020” will no longer be allowed in the republic.

Earlier, Lukashenka has repeatedly stated about the increased threats from Western countries against Belarus. In particular, he claimed that Kyiv was working on opening a second front on the border with Belarus.

In this regard, in the fall of 2022, Russia and Belarus agreed to deploy a joint regional group of forces. Lukashenka instructed to deploy a small part of the Russian military in the territory of the republic. January 16 in the republic started the first Russian-Belarusian tactical flight exercises in 2023. They will last until February 1st.
