President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told media representatives that the Belarusian and Russian economies did not and will not collapse due to Western sanctions, and also suggested that sanctions would have a positive effect on the country’s economy.
“It is absolutely certain that we did not collapse. And we won’t collapse,” Lukashenka noted, speaking about the impact of Western sanctions.
At the same time, he expressed the opinion that “maybe it’s good that they introduced these sanctions,” because it gave a good reason to “engage in themselves” in the development of the production of necessary products.
