Lukashenko rules out war on Belarusian territory

War on the territory of Belarus in modern conditions is impossible, said President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko at an event dedicated to National Unity Day.

“There will be no war in modern conditions on the territory of Belarus, this is impossible. Because it’s impossible,” the president said (quote according to BelTA).

He noted that “if God forbid something happens,” then Belarus “will become the Brest Fortress.” “We will defend our land, which belongs to our children, to the last soldier and Belarusian man,” he said.

Lukashenko added, that “vultures are circling” over the Belarusian, Russian and Ukrainian territories. He also mentioned Poland, which, according to him, “was one of the first to recognize the Nazi Reich,” having signed with it “a non-aggression pact and a secret agreement on the division of Czechoslovakia.”

The Belarusian president, at negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi on September 15, said that the West “sleeps and sees” how to send its regular troops to the combat zone in Ukraine. According to him, military units have already been formed in neighboring Poland, “ready to enter Ukraine.”

Relations between Belarus, Poland and the Baltic countries deteriorated even more after the Wagner PMC began operating in the republic at the end of June. The following month, special operations forces units of the Belarusian Armed Forces and PMC soldiers conducted joint exercises.

After this, the head of the Polish Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, said that the authorities intend to send 10,000 troops to the border with Belarus. Cases of violation of airspace between countries were also recorded. On September 16, Polish Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Mariusz Kaminski announced a tender for the construction of an electronic fence on the border with Belarus on the Bug River.
