President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko assured that under his leadership the republic would not lose its independence and he would never take such a step. He announced this during an open lesson on the topic “Historical memory is the road to the future!”.
“The question is in the wrong place. With me, no, with you, I don’t know. There will be no join. How can you betray something that you have been gluing with your own hands for decades? This is impossible under the current president,” quotes head of state agency “BelTA”.
According to Lukashenko, Russia and its leadership have no aspirations to annex Belarus. The countries are mutually beneficially cooperating, while the republic receives energy resources at favorable prices. In turn, Belarus is supporting Russia, he added.
Lukashenko said earlier that the independence of Belarus is an unshakable thing. According to the president, he does not even talk to those who think otherwise. “Whatever state they represent: it was the same with the Americans, the French, even starting from Chirac. And it will always be, emphasized he.
