Soldiers of PMC “Wagner” do not plan to attack the territory of Poland. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, rejecting the accusations of Warsaw, his words leads press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Suddenly, I hear recently, Poland went berserk that supposedly some detachment was coming here, as many as 100 people. No detachments of PMC “Wagner” in 100 people moved here. And if they moved, only to transfer combat experience to the brigades that are concentrated in Brest and Grodno,” he said.

Lukashenko stressed that the purpose of the military exercises that are currently taking place in Belarus is to transfer military experience from the fighters of the Wagner PMC. “Therefore, being near Osipovichi (a temporary camp on the territory of the former military unit where members of the Wagner PMC are stationed – ed.), in the center of Belarus, these guys do not want to go anywhere. They are used to following orders,” he stressed.

According to Lukashenka, it is necessary to create a contract army in Belarus, which will include experienced fighters. He also noted that he wants the PMC fighters to remain in the Armed Forces of Belarus. “We have conscripts, a call: he served a year and a half – he left. I myself was like that. Green boys, 18 years old. And there are experienced people, there are mostly officers, this is their profession – to fight or defend the country. They say it’s cheaper. Therefore, we are looking at this experience in order to protect ourselves in the future. This is our only goal,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

Agreements that PMC fighters and Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin would work in Belarus were reached on the evening of June 24 after Wagner PMC attempted an armed rebellion in Russia. After negotiations with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Prigozhin decided to stop the movement to the capital and return to the rear camps of PMCs. The criminal case initiated against Prigogine was dropped.

July 29 Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki informed on the movement of about a hundred fighters of the PMC “Wagner” to the Belarusian-Polish border in the area of the Suwalki corridor and called this decision “a step towards a further hybrid attack on Polish territory.”

July 20 Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported about joint exercises with Wagner at the Brestsky training ground – 13 km from the Brest checkpoint on the border with Poland. The exercises will last for a week. After that, Warsaw accepted the decision to transfer military formations from the west to the east of the country.
