Lukashenka equalizes the rights of Ukrainians who arrived in Belarus with citizens of the republic

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree amending the document “On the stay of citizens of Ukraine in the Republic of Belarus.” About it informs agency “BelTa” with reference to the press service of the president.
It is noted that the decree is designed to help the citizens of Ukraine who arrived in Belarus, who found themselves in a difficult situation, to integrate into the Belarusian society. The decree touches upon social and labor issues.
So, according to the document, Ukrainians will be equalized in rights with Belarusians. Citizens of Ukraine will have access to pre-school, general and special education, as well as training in colleges and universities, including at the expense of funds from the country’s budget. Ukrainians will also be able to receive medical care and social benefits, in particular, child benefits and pensions.
In addition, citizens of Ukraine will not have to pay a state duty for registering a temporary stay in Belarus. Their employers are also exempt from paying the tax.
Last week, the State Border Committee of Belarus in the Telegram channel informedthat after February 24, 2022, 51,514 Ukrainians arrived in the country. It was noted that 35,000 of them arrived in transit through the EU countries.
