On May 26, the Mutabor Club in Moscow will perform for the first time in Russia two iconic compositions by the famous Italian avant-garde artist of the sixties, Luigi Nono. As texts, newspaper notes, political slogans, poems by Pasternak and Khlebnikov are used here.
The communist avant-garde Luigi Nono always asked that his sophisticated compositions be performed not in philharmonic and opera halls, even the most prestigious ones, but in factory floors and university auditoriums. So he would certainly have approved that for the Russian premieres (very late, frankly speaking) of his compositions, not a philharmonic hall was chosen, but a venue with an industrial past – the Mutabor nightclub. It opened four years ago on the site of the former compressor station of a ball bearing plant.
