Losses from the ban on drone flights could amount to 10 billion rubles. at the end of the year

The total loss from the ban on drone flights in Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg will reach 1.5 billion rubles if it lasts until the end of 2023. As a result, the industry will return to the level of 2018. This was reported to Kommersant by experts and major market participants.

According to market participants, excluding Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg, the total losses of the industry will reach 10 billion rubles. The biggest losses will be incurred by the agricultural industry, whose losses can reach 2.4 billion rubles. Losses will include the amount of lost profits from aerial photography and monitoring services, 3D modeling and marketing surveys, as well as land cadastral registration, monitoring the condition of industrial facilities, power lines and remote sensing of the Earth.

According to experts, the bans do not prevent attacks from drones, as such devices fly without permits. As an alternative, experts suggest developing a set of organizational measures and technological solutions that will allow detecting a properly equipped drone, determining its route and sending service commands to the crew for landing. In case of non-fulfillment of landing commands, the drone can be destroyed.

Russian regions are imposing bans on drone flights from the fall of 2022 due to Ukrainian attacks from UAVs. This week, a similar ban was introduced in Moscow after attacks drones to the Kremlin. The drones were shot down.
