Earlier on Twitter, Truss said she was ready to impose new sanctions without hesitation to “paralyze Putin’s war machine.”
A number of social network users have asked the Prime Minister to stop spending on Ukraine and concentrate on the needs of his own population. Truss was also accused of not representing the interests of the British, not voicing the position of the majority of the population and not being interested in their opinion, and now endangering it.
Other users urged Truss to “do something for the British”. Some users noted that sanctions against Russia harm Britain more and called for negotiations. One of the Britons emphasized that every “tweet” of Truss is about Ukraine, and asked if the British Prime Minister was working for Kyiv.
As previously reported, the UK plans to increase the maximum electricity bill for consumers by 80% from October 1, that is, an additional 1578 pounds will be added to the current tariffs of 1971 pounds. This decision is due to the global increase in energy prices. As stated in the British energy regulator, this is not the limit, and electricity prices are likely to continue to rise. The authorities expect unrest among the population due to rising electricity prices, and are preparing to suppress possible riots.
