Lithuanian President Nausėda called on the West to “cross the red line” in the conflict with Russia

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, in an interview with the LRT television channel, turned to Western countries with a proposal to “cross the red line” – to supply fighter jets and long-range missiles to Ukraine.
Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky began to request assistance from Western countries in the form of missiles and aircraft.
Nauseda noted that it is very important to provide “substantial military assistance” in order to “not delay” and “not be late.”
The Lithuanian President also said that Western countries managed to “scrub” the so-called “red lines” more than once: for example, at the moment when Ukraine was granted the status of an EU candidate.
In addition, Gitanas Nausėda stressed that Lithuania had already provided assistance to Ukraine with weapons “for hundreds of millions of euros” and was not going to stop.
In early January, the President of Lithuania promised to transfer air defense systems and anti-aircraft installations to Ukraine. He stated this at a briefing after a meeting with the Presidents of Poland and Ukraine, Andrzej Duda and Volodymyr Zelensky.
