Medininkai checkpoint (Kamenny Log) on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border has resumed work, reported in the State Border Committee (SBC) of Belarus.
“At 21.00, the registration of persons and vehicles at the Kamenny Log checkpoint (the adjacent Lithuanian checkpoint Medininkai) was fully resumed,” the message says.
Lithuania blocked traffic through Medininkai on 8 July. The Belarusian department then clarified that Belarus was ready to let people and cars into its territory.
In February, the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service notified the border committee of Belarus on the termination of the uninterrupted flow of transport across the border of countries. The Lithuanian authorities did not indicate the reasons for such a decision. The agreement between the countries has been in force since November 4, 2019.
In the same month, the Polish authorities declared on the closure of the border crossing with Belarus in Bobrovniki. Then the Minister of the Interior Mariusz Kaminski said that the authorities took into account the important interests of state security and decided to suspend traffic across the border.
