Lithuania transferred more than 4.5 million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine, the caliber of the ammunition was not specified.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense said that the country “continues to provide uninterrupted military assistance to Ukraine.”
Russia has repeatedly pointed out the risks of pumping up the Kyiv regime with weapons. The Russian delegation to the UN has requested a meeting of the world organization’s Security Council for September 12 to discuss supplies of Western weapons to Ukraine and other factors that negatively affect the prospects for resolving the crisis in and around Ukraine.
However, Ukraine’s Western allies do not limit themselves to arms supplies. Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas proposed that Russia’s neighbors, including Lithuania, introduce unified trade embargo. At the same time, for the successful implementation of this initiative, the opinion of the Finnish authorities is of particular importance, Kallas believes.
