The likelihood of a clash between NATO and Russia in the next two years is low due to the high intensity of battles in the Ukrainian direction. This opinion was expressed by the commander of the Lithuanian army Valdemaras Rupsis in an interview with Delfi.
“After summing up and assessing the current state of Russia’s capabilities, the likelihood that a war between Russia and NATO will begin next year is very low…” said the head of the country’s armed forces (AF).
He clarified that everything can change, so Lithuania should one way or another prepare for a potential conflict.
Earlier, Estonia gave an assessment of the likelihood of a confrontation between Russia and the alliance. According to the Prime Minister of the Republic, Kaya Kallas, the conflict could begin within the next 5 years.
