Former Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, State Secretary – Deputy Chairman of the DOSAAF of Russia, Lieutenant General Nikolai Staskov commented on the statement of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov that Russia needs to take Odessa and Kharkov during a special operation. Kadyrov also noted that Russia has “manpower” to take Kyiv if such an order follows.
According to Staskov, it is very profitable for Russia to take Odessa and the Black Sea coast, but this is “a difficult task.”
He noted in interview NSN that it is possible to complete this task, but it is necessary to create a grouping three times superior to the enemy forces. “For now, we are fighting one to one,” the lieutenant general stated.
Nikolai Staskov called the availability of new weapons, especially armored vehicles, air defense and aviation, another important condition. But even in this case, Staskov noted, it will take a lot of effort to capture the coastal areas.
Also, the lieutenant general believes that much will depend on equipping Ukraine with a large number of tanks and anti-tank weapons.
“Time will tell,” he added.
“If there is a turning point, European countries may be drawn into the fight – we see how the Polish army is arming and preparing,” Staskov admitted, noting that this situation will already be close to a world war with the use of nuclear weapons.
