Leonkov: “Tors” and “Buks” can shoot down missiles modified by Kiev from S-200

Military expert Alexei Leonkov commented on the message of the Russian Ministry of Defense that the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to hit the Crimean Bridge and other territories of the Russian Federation with missiles converted for firing at ground targets from the Soviet S-200 air defense system.
The expert recalled that he assumed that where Ukrainian drones fly over the territory of Russia at low altitudes, then missiles will also fly. “Here we are seeing this,” Leonkov said, adding that the rocket flies at low altitude along proven routes, only at a higher speed than a drone.
According to the expert, this goal is more difficult, but the Russian Tor and Buk complexes, which have “the shortest reaction time and the most powerful warhead,” can cope with it.
Leonkov explained that during a low-altitude flight of missiles from the S-200 air defense system, air defense systems can only detect them at a distance of 15-20 km, so the S-300 / S-400 systems will be inappropriate for their interception.
He did not rule out that Western experts helped Kiev modify the S-200 missile, as was done with the Soviet Tu-141 Strizh drones, which Kiev turned into a kind of cruise missiles. With the help of converted Swifts, strikes were made on military airfields in the Russian Federation.
