On Monday, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region approved amendments in three readings at once, lifting the ban on serving as the head of the region for more than two consecutive terms. Several parliamentarians considered the hasty adoption of such important changes “a little wrong,” but most of them had no questions about the bill. The press service of Governor Alexander Drozdenko, who previously himself opposed the possibility of running for a third term, does not comment on the amendments.
