Leadership of United Russia will visit Khakassia on the eve of elections in the region

The attention of the parties in Khakassia turned to the elections to the Legislative Assembly and the City Duma of the administrative center – Abakan. Secretary of the General Council of “United Russia” Andrey Turchak on Wednesday, September 6, will arrive in Khakassia. Three sources in United Russia told Vedomosti about this.

This is not Turchak’s first trip to Khakassia. He came there, among other things, to support Sergei Sokol, who was going from the party to the gubernatorial elections (he withdrew for health reasons on September 2) and heads the party’s list in the elections to the Legislative Assembly. Turchak first came to the region on April 20. Then, at the headquarters of public support, the nomination of Sokol for elections was discussed.

In Khakassia, Turchak’s meetings were previously scheduled with candidates from the party who are participating in elections to the legislative assembly of the republic and the city council of Abakan from United Russia, the source says.

Turchak will arrive in the republic after visiting the Arkhangelsk region on September 4, and Yakutia on September 5. Elections will also be held in these regions. In the Arkhangelsk region, deputies of the regional parliament and the City Duma of Arkhangelsk will be elected, in Yakutia – the head of the region, deputies of the state assembly of the republic and the City Duma of Yakutsk.

In Khakassia, “serious factions” are also counted on by the LDPR and the “Communists of Russia” – the candidates of these parties continue to oppose the current leader of the republic, Valentin Konovalov (KPRF). “It is important to convey to the voters that they vote for the LDPR,” Mikhail Molchanov, a member of the regional parliament, told Vedomosti (he is number two in the republican part of the list after the leader of the LDPR, Leonid Slutsky).

“We are waiting for the vote itself, and then we will already understand what the alignment will be in the elections to the Legislative Assembly and the City Duma,” said Yury Afonin, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Federal communists will also visit the region – for example, Georgy Kamnev, Vladimir Isakov, Maria Drobot, Mikhail Matveev, Artem Prokofiev will work in the region.

The removal of Sokol from the election of the head of the region should not affect the campaign for the legislature, says a source in United Russia: “There is a team, the headquarters of candidates are working, there is an actual campaign strategy.”

Now it is important for United Russia to strengthen the campaign, says Rostislav Turovsky, vice president of the Center for Political Technologies: “United Russia needs to create a serious counterweight to the communists and Konovalov in the elections to the Legislative Assembly and the City Council of Abakan.” The campaign of “United Russia” is built quite well, but it is clear that the party leadership needs to control it and use every opportunity to intensify, the expert believes.
