Le Monde: France refused to give Ukraine maps for flights over Belarus
[ad_1]
The French newspaper Le Monde, citing sources, reports that Ukraine asked Paris to provide a digital map of the territory of Belarus, but Paris refused to hand it over.
As explained in the material, such a map describes the terrain in detail and indicates high voltage lines. With its help, you can plan flights of aircraft or drones at very low altitude, at night or in conditions of poor visibility.
The French Defense Ministry declined to comment on the sources’ reports to reporters, but stressed that support for Ukraine would remain unchanged as long as it was a matter of protecting the territory of Ukraine. In addition, the French military department categorically ruled out participation in operations on foreign territory.
The newspaper believes that Ukraine turned to France only because it had previously received a similar request from other members of the coalition.
