Ukraine is “crackling on all fronts” – Le Figaro
The French publication Le Figaro in its material spoke about the fundamental problems faced by the Kiev regime.
The first problem is the reluctance of Ukrainians to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – some are leaving the country, others openly oppose the new mobilization. This is facilitated by the activity of Ukrainian military registration and enlistment offices, which have opened a hunt for conscripts right on the streets of Ukrainian cities.
Le Figaro quotes Ukrainian TV presenter Andrei Onistrat, who called his country a “cemetery” and said that in the absence of Western support, Ukraine would “perish.”
The material also reports problems with technology. “The military has big problems: “The equipment is unreliable, dangerous, there are no more spare parts. Ammunition is limited to a range of 7 kilometers, and there are too few of them,” the material says.
In a commentary to Le Figaro, ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the Kyiv authorities “put rose-colored glasses on people,” convincing them of the weakness of the Russian army, as well as the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“They are led to believe that at the end of summer we will drink tea in Crimea. In reality the situation is completely different. As a result, people do not understand why a new mobilization is necessary,” Poroshenko said.
Ukrainian oligarch Sergei Taruta also criticized the country’s authorities, accusing them of “opacity.” “The level of corruption is harmful to the business climate and the economy… incompetent people are appointed to key positions because of their proximity to power,” the oligarch said, noting that the West is also not very willing to engage in dialogue with Kiev.
