The LDPR will take part in the presidential elections in 2024 and nominate its own candidate, party chairman Leonid Slutsky said.
“Of course, the LDPR will participate in the presidential elections in Russia, and we will nominate our own candidate. But I’ll be more precise in the fall, when we hold regional elections, ”the politician answered the corresponding question at a lecture for students of the Bashkir State University.
On May 20, the leader of A Just Russia – For Truth, Sergei Mironov offered to nominate the incumbent head of state, Vladimir Putin, in the upcoming presidential elections. “His actions fully meet our goals and objectives. The Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth party will provide full support to the incumbent head of state,” he emphasized. Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov pointed outthat Mironov’s proposal is “an important indicator of the president’s support.”
Presidential elections in Russia will be held in 2024. In January, Ella Pamfilova, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission reportedthat the CEC has already begun preparations for them. After that, Peskov stressed that Putin has not yet “made any statements on this matter.” In February, the president announced that all elections would be held in strict accordance with the law.
