The schedule of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov does not include contacts with the American side, as well as Great Britain and other NATO countries. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on air TV channel “Soloviev Live”.

“We have contacts with countries in Asia, Latin America, Africa, with friendly countries, international organizations,” Zakharova clarified.

On September 20, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, Lavrov stated about the increasing risks of global conflict due to the fact that the West is turning to statutory norms and principles “solely in accordance with its geopolitical needs.” He also recalled the importance of the principles of sovereign equality of states, the right of peoples to self-determination, non-interference in internal processes and respect for the territorial integrity of countries.

The 78th session of the UN General Assembly opened in New York on September 19. It is attended by heads of state, prime ministers, foreign ministers, and representatives of international organizations. They will explore options for solving global problems that promote peace, security and sustainable development. Lavrov heads Russian delegation.
