Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Russian Federation does not need to close in response to EU visa restrictions.
“The West will close… But we will not self-isolate. I believe that in response to these Schengen walls that they are trying to build, we do not need to close down and collectively punish the citizens of the European Union, ”he said.
Lavrov also called “pathetic” EU politicians who want to limit the issuance of visas to Russian citizens.
Previously reportedthat the EU countries decided to suspend the visa facilitation agreement with Russia. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto spoke about this. He also said that the EU countries could not agree on a complete ban on the issuance of Schengen visas to Russian citizens.
