Lavrov promised a military-technical response to the supply of F-16 to Ukraine

Russia will give a military-technical response if F-16 fighters appear in the sky of Ukraine. About it declared Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with RT.

“Now there is talk about F-16 aircraft, which can really be equipped in order to carry nuclear weapons. <...> The F-16 is a military-technical product, so, of course, if we see that these planes flew over Ukraine and pose a threat to us, of course, there will also be a military-technical response,” he said.

Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin at a plenary meeting of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), answering the moderator’s question, declaredthat in the case of deliveries to Ukraine, F-16 fighters will burn in the same way as Leopard tanks. According to him, the Russian army successfully destroys this equipment when repelling attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the summit of the leaders of the G7 countries (USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Japan), which was held on May 19-21 in the Japanese city of Hiroshima, an agreement was announced to supply fourth-generation American-made F-16 fighter jets to Kiev. The training of Ukrainian pilots has already begun in several countries, informed Josep Borrell, head of EU diplomacy.

In the Kremlin declaredthat the supply of fighter jets to Kyiv will not change the situation on the line of contact. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov pointed to the continuation of an increasing spiral of providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with new weapons. Lavrov earlier expressed confidencethat the Russian army has the ability to respond to the announced deliveries of fighters.
