NATO countries are actually fighting on the side of Ukraine, there is nowhere to get deeper into the conflict, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a joint press conferences with Iranian colleague Hossein Amirabdollahian.

“We touched on the situation in Ukraine and around it. Once again, we drew attention to the subversive line of the NATO countries, which have been drawn into the conflict for a long time and are drawn into it deeper and deeper, in my opinion, there is nowhere to go, and in fact they are fighting on the side of the Kiev regime,” he said.

Russia appreciates Iran’s balanced position and understanding of the true motives of what is happening, Lavrov stressed.

On March 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that the West starts build a new axis like the one created by the fascist regimes in Germany and Italy.

On February 18, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that a Russian victory in the Ukrainian conflict would be “extremely dangerous” for NATO, so it is necessary to continue to support Ukraine. The secretary general also believes that the countries of the alliance should prepare for confrontation with Russia: modernize their own armies, strengthen relations between European countries and the United States, and generally strengthen the “resilience” of Western society.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
