Lavrov: Moscow maintains contacts only with the political office of Hamas

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the Russian Federation condemned the October 7 attack on Israel, but Moscow only maintains contact with Hamas’s political office.
On the morning of October 7, Hamas fighters infiltrated the border areas of southern Israel, killing and taking hostage many civilians and military personnel, and launched more than 3,000 rockets into the country. The number of victims was at least 1,400 people, most of them civilians. Many of the dead were participants in the music festival. The attack was the largest mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust.
In response, Israel launched Operation Iron Swords against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
