Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied reports that he wears a watch from the American brand Apple.
Users drew attention to the gadget on Lavrov’s hand after the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, published a video with him in Bali in preparation for the G20 summit. So Zakharova denied the reports of AP and Reuters, which claimed that Lavrov was hospitalized. On the footage, the minister appeared at a table against the backdrop of palm trees in summer clothes, a smartphone lay on the table, and a fashion accessory was on his arm.
“Especially for the illiterate, it is worth explaining,” Lavrov said, commenting on the interest in his watch, “that the watch was not made by Apple, but by Huawei.”
As for the iPhone on the table in front of Lavrov, Zakharova explained this point separately: “A billion Chinese people assemble iPhones in China.” At the same time, she added that “I agree: they had to invent their own phones and computers.”
“See Chubais, ask where the promise is,” the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman concluded.
