Lavrov called “fantastic” the words of Burbock about the suffering of German citizens for the sake of Ukraine

The statement by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock that she is not interested in the opinion of German citizens on the issue of supporting Ukraine was a “fantastic confession.” This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the words of Burbock, who recognized the “suffering” of the Germans and said that the inconvenience will continue, because Germany will continue to support Ukraine “no matter what.”

“Fantastic confession. Just a fantastic confession. Just in the vein, as they say, those talks that are ongoing about the need to hold early elections in a number of European countries, ”said Lavrov (quote according to TASS).

The special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals.

In response to Russia’s actions, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States have imposed large-scale sanctions against the country. Many sectors of the economy fell under the restrictions, including energy, the high-tech sector, aviation, the banking industry, the mining industry, the automotive industry, etc.

However, restrictive measures against Russia had a negative impact on the economies of foreign countries. The authorities of European states have repeatedly stated that the problems that have arisen are the price for Europe’s independence from Russia and its energy resources.

In particular, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz acknowledged that many Germans have faced the consequences of the sanctions policy, including rising prices for gasoline and food. However, he said that the sanctions against Russia would last as long as necessary to support Ukraine.
