Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, arrived in New York to participate in meetings of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine. As a TASS correspondent reports, Lavrov flew the distance from Moscow to the United States along the northern route, bypassing unfriendly countries, in 12 hours 45 minutes without any incidents.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova previously told TASS that Lavrov will be in New York from January 22 to 24 to take part in the UN Security Council debate on the Middle East and a meeting on Ukraine. In addition, a number of bilateral meetings are expected to be held.
