The promise of Western countries to supply Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets is an unacceptable escalation, there is talk of dismembering Russia, declared Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin.”

“Of course, this is an unacceptable escalation. I think that there are still reasonable people in the West who understand this, but all Washington, London and their satellites that are inside the European Union dictate, primarily the Baltic countries, Poland, who are carrying out the task set by the United States directly on the ground, – weaken Russia, inflict a strategic defeat on it, ”Lavrov said, answering the question of where the escalation limit is in the context of possible deliveries of fighter jets and tanks to Kiev.

According to the minister, in the West, in the political science circles of the West, there is “talk about decolonizing Russia.” It is about the dismemberment of the country, he explained, and expressed the hope that people will “move away from the reckless support of the neo-Nazi regime” created by the West itself. The head of the Foreign Ministry mentioned the speech of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, US Army General Mark Milley, who, according to him, cautiously said “something that is not peremptory support” of the “peace formula” proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“He said that apparently Ukraine cannot count on the return of all its territories within the 1991 borders in the foreseeable future. This is a step forward towards understanding reality on earth,” Lavrov said.

Milli previously said that the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine “will play a role in the future”, and one should not expect miraculous results from them.

At the summit of the leaders of the G7 countries in the Japanese city of Hiroshima, an agreement was announced to supply fourth-generation American-made F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv. The training of Ukrainian pilots has already begun in several countries, said the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell. Aircraft F-16 Ukraine can provide The Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark (the exact number of cars was not called). Poland is not going to transfer its F-16s to Ukraine (it received 48 new-made aircraft in the 2000s), citing the fact that it needs them itself. Portugal said that it could not yet supply fighter jets either. Italy also reported a similar decision.

The Kremlin said that the supply of fighter jets to Kyiv will not change the situation on the line of contact. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov pointed to the continuation of an increasing spiral of providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with new weapons. According to him, Russia is facing a similar situation “turn after turn”, and Western countries are increasingly involved in the conflict in Ukraine.
