Lavrov announced the failure of the West’s plans to “dismember” Russia

The West wanted to isolate and destroy Russia, but these plans were thwarted. This statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov at a meeting with the heads of the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“We managed not only to frustrate the plans of the collective West to isolate, and even dismember Russia, but also to ensure ongoing cooperation with the overwhelming majority of members of the international community,” he noted (quote according to RIA Novosti).

Earlier today during the Lavrov meeting declaredthat about 20 states want to join the SCO and BRICS. He drew attention to the fact that the number of countries has increased dramatically over the past few years, including a year of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.

February 21 during messages Russian President Vladimir Putin told the Federal Assembly that the goal of the West is to acquire “unlimited power.” He accused the US and NATO of deploying military bases near the Russian borders and stressed that Western countries are openly talking about the desire to “inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.” Putin added that the Western countries launched an “economic front” against Russia, tried to “collapse the ruble and provoke destructive inflation,” but their calculations did not materialize. The President of the Russian Federation stressed that “the West has not achieved anything anywhere and will not achieve anything.”

In early February, congratulating Russian diplomats on their professional holiday, Putin notedthat thanks to the efforts of the Foreign Ministry staff, the West failed to isolate Russia in the international arena. He also drew attention to the intensification of cooperation with the states of the Eurasian space, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and Latin America.
