The administration of US President Joe Biden wants the “end of history”, about which philosopher and political scientist Francis Fukuyama wrote (the complete dominance of liberal ideology in the world), to take place in real life. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Lavrov noted that Fukuyama said 30 years ago that the end of history had come, referring to the complete dominance of liberal ideology, democracy, and the liberal way of life. The philosopher also noted the disappearance of its competitor – the system of socialism.
“They began to say: that’s how Francis was wrong, you don’t need to make forecasts so categorically. If you look at the policy that the Biden administration is pursuing, then they want exactly this, ”said Lavrov (quote according to RIA Novosti).
According to the diplomat, the US administration wants the end of history to take place in real life, and what is happening in Europe and other continents is a reflection of this.
The End of History and the Last Man was released in 1992. In the book, Fukuyama argues that the spread of Western-style liberal democracy around the world marks the end point of human sociocultural evolution and the formation of the ultimate form of government. In Fukuyama’s view, the end of history, however, does not mean the end of eventful history, but it does mean the end of a century of ideological confrontations, global revolutions and wars, and with them the end of art and philosophy.
