In Latvia, the first citizens of the Russian Federation without a residence permit were ordered to leave the country

The head of the Riga Migration Service, Maira Rose, said on Latvian television that Latvia ordered the first Russian citizens who no longer have a residence permit to leave the country.

Data from the migration service indicate that the corresponding decision was made against six Russians, two of whom have already left Latvia. The remaining Russian citizens need to do this within the next 30 days.

It is noted that the reason for this is changes in Latvian immigration legislation, according to which anyone who wants to continue to live legally in Latvia with a Russian passport must apply for permanent resident status. In addition, they will need to prove their knowledge of the Latvian language at the appropriate level.
