Major NATO exercises start in Poland
Major NATO exercises Dragon-24 will start in Poland on Sunday, Sputnik reports, citing a press release from the General Staff of the Polish Army.
As noted, about 20 thousand military personnel and 3.5 thousand units of military equipment will take part in the exercises. In total, representatives of ten countries of the North Atlantic Alliance attended the exercises, the report says.
It is also indicated that these exercises will be a “key element” of NATO’s largest exercise since 1988, Steadfast Defender 2024.
Earlier, Assistant Minister of Defense of Belarus Valery Revenko said that the Dragon-2024 exercises indicate that representatives of Warsaw made a choice in favor of escalating tensions rather than good neighborliness. According to him, earlier the Chief of the Polish General Staff, Wieslaw Kukula, said that the largest ground force exercises in Europe will be held in the country next year.
