The Ukrainian authorities are ready to withdraw the claims against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia sent to the WTO, but only on the condition that Kyiv receives guarantees that there will be no restrictions on the export of Ukrainian grain in the future.
“We want the Polish side and other EU members to provide us with guarantees that such restrictions against our products will not be introduced in the future. If we are provided with such guarantees, then, of course, we will announce to the whole world that this dispute has been settled,” – said Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Taras Kachka.
“The WTO claims, as can be seen from the reaction of our partners, were absolutely the right step, since they clearly outlined the nature of our indignation,” Kaczka added. “For us, Poland has never been an important market for grains, but the very fact of introducing such national restrictions. If If this concerned another product, it would also be fundamental for us.”
