Kuleba says there will be no counteroffensive if Orban persuades Putin to withdraw troops
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to use his connections to convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to withdraw troops from Ukraine.
Kuleba stressed that hopes that Kyiv would succumb to Moscow were “perverse logic” that failed between 2014 and 2022. The Ukrainian side strives for peace, but it must be fair, the Foreign Minister stressed. His words are quoted by ZN.ua.
Earlier, Orban called on Moscow and Kyiv to return to negotiations and warned of a possible bloody massacre during the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian military. He said: “Even a person like me, who served 1.5 years in the army, knows for sure … that if I attack, then I will have 3 times more casualties than the one who defends himself.”
However, Kuleba replied that a counteroffensive would not be necessary if Russia withdrew its troops from Ukraine.
The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that at the moment there is not a single option for a peace process.
