The head of the Accounts Chamber Alexei Kudrin will soon leave the department. On Tuesday, November 29, he wrote on his Telegram channel that he had submitted a corresponding application to President Vladimir Putin in the prescribed manner. At the same time, Kudrin leaves not only the control department, but also the civil service, where he spent about 25 years. According to him, he intends to “focus on large projects that are associated with the development of private initiatives in a broad sense, but at the same time have a significant impact on people.”

Kudrin was appointed head of the Accounts Chamber in May 2018. Prior to that, for several years he was chairman of the board of the Center for Strategic Research Foundation, which, on behalf of the president, developed proposals for the Russian development strategy for 2018–2024. From 2000 to 2011, Kudrin headed the Ministry of Finance, combining this position with the post of Deputy Prime Minister in 2000-2004 and 2007-2011. but resigned after a conflict with Dmitry Medvedev, who was then president.
