Krasnoyarsk Governor Uss thanked those involved in the return of his son to Russia

The Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, recorded a video message in which he thanked everyone involved in the return of his son to Russia. He confirmed that Artem Uss is at home. The governor himself believed that “despite the complexity” and even “the hopelessness of the situation”, it would be so.

“This path, of course, was not easy,” the governor said in his appeal, which was published on his Telegram channel. – There are many versions, assumptions, both ours and foreign media, I will not comment on them. I think Artyom himself could say this with great reason, but for various reasons he is not a person inclined to publicity, and whether he will talk about it, what and when, I don’t know.

Uss Sr. thanked everyone who “was rooting not only for us, but also for Krasnoyarsk, for Siberia, and for Russia.” According to him, many support the country and sympathize with it abroad. And he expressed “separate words of gratitude” to Vladimir Putin, noting that he is “a man with a big and open heart.”

The son of the governor of Krasnoyarsk, the governor, was detained in Milan on October 17, 2022 at the request of the US Department of Justice. He is suspected of violating the sanctions regime and money laundering. An Italian court approved the extradition of Uss to the United States, after which the detainee was placed under house arrest.

On March 23, it became known that he broke his electronic bracelet and left the apartment where he was by court order.

On April 4, Uss announced that he had returned to Russia after escaping from house arrest in Italy. He explained his decision to run away by the fact that the Italian court demonstrated its “obvious political bias” and “cambered” under pressure from Washington. On April 4, he appeared at the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where his preventive measure was changed to a written undertaking not to leave.

After the detention in Milan, a criminal case against Uss was also initiated in Russia. He was accused of money laundering by an organized group on an especially large scale (clauses “a”, “b” of part 4 of article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, under this article Uss faces up to 5 years in prison), after which the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow in absentia arrested him for two months.
