Kraft Heinz to sell food business in Russia to Chernogolovka

The American company Kraft Heinz will sell the Russian baby food business to the Chernogolovka group of companies, an agreement has already been reached. About it informed Kommersant, citing a letter from the CEO of Kraft Heinz in Russia and the CIS, Mary Ghukasyan, to partners.
It is specified that upon closing the deal, Chernogolovka will receive the brands Umnitsa, Sami with a mustache and the Heinz-Georgievsk enterprises in the Stavropol Territory and the Ivanovo baby food plant with a total capacity of more than 30,000 tons of dry, liquid cereals and mashed potatoes per year. Chernogolovka will also have the right to use the Heinz Baby brand during a “short” transition period.
The deal is expected to close in the summer of 2023 after the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained.
The fact that Kraft Heinz plans to leave the Russian market became known at the end of July 2022. Then reportedthat the value of the company’s business could amount to 2.5-3 billion rubles.
Kraft Heinz was created in 2015 as a result of the merger of Heinz and Kraft Foods. In the same year she acquired enterprise in Ivanovo. In addition to the baby food business, Kraft Heinz also has a Petroproduct-Otradnoye enterprise in the Leningrad Region, where it produces ketchups, sauces, and canned foods. It is noted that the company is not going to sell this business.
