Kozlov spoke about plans to resume full flights between Russia and the DPRK

Air traffic between Russia and the DPRK is currently operating in a trial mode, but soon it will be fully operational, said Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.

According to him, the Ministry of Transport “did everything to” launch air service between the two countries.

“It is currently running in trial mode. But we are confident that in the near future it can [начать] function fully,” said Kozlov (quote from TASS).

Flights between North Korea and Russia were stopped in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. On August 25, the first plane from Pyongyang landed at Vladivostok airport after the closure of air traffic. Media with reference to the airport press service wrotethat the first flights were operated by Air Koryo. The press service of the government of the Primorsky Territory also noted that the Pyongyang-Vladivostok flight was technical, and there was no talk of resuming passenger traffic at that time.
