Kozhemyako appointed Speaker of the Parliament of Primorye Rolik as a senator

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Primorsky Territory Alexander Rolik has been appointed a member of the Federation Council from the regional government. Decree on this signed Governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako.

“Give Rolik Alexander Ivanovich the powers of a senator of the Russian Federation – a representative from the executive body of state power of the Primorsky Territory,” the document says.

In this position, Rolik replaced Svetlana Goryacheva. Previously Vedomosti assumedthat Rolik will become a senator from Primorye, since he was included in the top three candidates for Governor Kozhemyako (he was re-elected on September 10 with a result of 72.78%). Goryacheva was not on this list.

Alexander Rolik is 67 years old. From 2003 to 2010 he headed the department of the Federal Service of the Russian Federation for Drug Control in the Primorsky Territory (the department was abolished in 2016). Then, for two years, he held the position of head of the regional department of the Ministry of Justice, and from 2012 to 2016. was vice-governor of the Primorsky Territory. In 2016, Rolik was elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Primorsky Territory from United Russia and became its chairman. He was re-elected in 2021.

In 2020, Rolik was a member of the working group preparing proposals to amend the Constitution of the Russian Federation. He is a Candidate of Legal Sciences and an Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation.
