The number of employed Russians has increased by 1.5 million over the year, Russian Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“In the country, the number of employed citizens over the year has increased by 1.5 million people, today this figure is 73.4 million (working in the country). That is, we have an increase of 1.5 million in one year in terms of the number of employees,” he said. (quote by Interfax).
During the meeting, the minister noted reducing unemployment in all age groups, including among young people. 78 employment centers are already operating in the new regions, since the beginning of the year 51,000 people have applied to them, 42,000 of whom have already been employed, Kotyakov added.
At the end of June, the decrease in unemployment in Russia to a record 3.2% in May informed Rosstat. In total, there are 2.4 million unemployed in the country (meeting the ILO criteria: they did not have a job, they were looking for it and they were ready to start it in the surveyed week).
Later, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Elena Mukhtiyarova told on reducing the number of workers in Russia who are idle by 3.5 times, and those working part-time – by 3.2 times.
How wrote Earlier, Vedomosti, the growth in real wages of Russians, i.e., adjusted for inflation, in April reached a record for five years and amounted to 10.4% compared to the same period last year, follows from Rosstat data. The last time the indicator grew at a double-digit pace was in February 2018 (then the increase was 10.5%).
