VTB CEO Andrey Kostin has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Shipbuilding Company (USC). In this post, he replaced the former governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko. Previously head of USC Was assigned Andrey Puchkov, former First Deputy Chairman of VTB. The reshuffle took place after President Vladimir Putin approved transfer of USC to the bank.
Elect Mr. Kostin as Chairman of the Board of Directors of USC decided unanimously.
100% of USC shares are in federal ownership. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, specified that 100% of the USC shares will be transferred to VTB in trust for five years. Initially, the Ministry of Industry and Trade offered to transfer USC to Rosatom, but the state corporation refused. Kommersant’s sources reported that the reason for the transfer of USC shares was the failure of its financial recovery program.
USC unites more than 50 design bureaus, shipbuilding, ship repair and machine-building plants, research centers and enterprises in 15 regions of the Russian Federation. USC’s revenue for 2022, according to the company, amounted to 350 billion rubles.
