Korotchenko spoke about the purpose of the new army and corps being formed in Russia

New combat-ready units can help in solving the tasks of the NWO

On Thursday, June 22, at a meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation chaired by President Putin, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the progress in creating a new reserve army in Russia. It will be formed by the end of June, and the formation of a new army corps will be completed in the near future. Under what tasks military associations and formations are being deployed in our country – Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, explained to MK.

According to Sergei Shoigu, the reserve army and the army corps will receive more than 3.7 thousand pieces of equipment. According to the minister, now the five regiments of the new corps are already 60% complete.

Igor Korotchenko recalled that such measures are being taken by the Russian military department as part of earlier decisions to increase the size of the country’s Armed Forces to one and a half million people. Now the number of the Armed Forces is 1.151 million servicemen.

According to Korotchenko, the Russian expert community has long raised the question of increasing the quantitative composition of our army due to the fact that NATO countries have long and systematically increased the size of their armed forces, bringing them directly to our borders. For example, Poland is going to double its army and bring it up to 300 thousand people. The military contingent of the Alliance is increasing, among other things, by including the armies of our closest neighbors, such as Finland. This means that we do not have the right to silently observe this without taking any retaliatory actions.

As Korotchenko said, “the issue raised by the expert community has become a result of the state policy of military development, which indicates that we correctly identify trends and the need for such decisions.”

He recalled that at the end of 2022, Sergei Shoigu, at an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense, said that the Russian army should be increased to 1.5 million military personnel. At the same time, there was also talk of a phased increase in the draft age from 18 to 21 years, and the maximum age of conscription – from 27 to 30 years. Then the corresponding draft was submitted to the State Duma by the deputies of the defense committee, and as a result became law.

About what tasks the new military formations will perform, Korotchenko said this:

– The main thing now is to equip them with personnel and equipment. And where to use this reserve – to strengthen the defense of our border territories, or in the future to develop our offensive in the special operation zone – this is already a matter of political decision by the country’s leadership.

In turn, a number of military experts link the accelerated formation of new armies and corps with the need to fully solve the tasks of a special military operation. In any case, the presence of combat-ready and well-equipped army corps will not be superfluous after you manage to deal with the large offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the task of completely liberating new Russian regions will arise.
